After 7 years in medical device development, Johan moved into data science where he specialised in machine learning with a focus on image and audio classification. He has professional experience in launching commercial AI software solutions and building end to end data science products.

Mark has been a farmer for most of his professional career. But in 2007, he made a dramatic shift and started a successful specialised care facility. He has since hired hundreds of employees in the caregiving and nursing professions, which has enabled him to provide essential insights into our users.

Max is a specialist in internal medicine with 8+ years of experience as a clinician. He received the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarship to attend the University of Oxford where he received his MBA (with distinction). Max has experience working at the intersection of innovation, technology, and medicine in South Africa, where he has led numerous research and innovation initiatives.

His experience in IoT system design, on-device ML, and federated learning brings a unique intersection of hardware, software, and data science background to the medical-tech industry.

Ethan is a machine learning engineer specializing in developing and optimizing classification models for medical diagnostics. After completing his thesis on hand gesture recognition using signal processing and machine learning, he set out to apply these skills to impactful challenges in healthcare. With a strong background in large-scale ML experimentation, signal processing, and backend engineering, he’s driven by the goal of using technology to improve lives and deliver impactful solutions in the medical field.

Jamie Arkin brings over a decade of experience building and leading organizations tackling some of the most pressing health challenges across the Global South. She has led the introduction of new technologies, including AI and ML, to improve health outcomes, and is known for her ability to bridge global partnerships with local impact. She brings deep expertise in strategy, team leadership, and cross-sector partnership development, with a strong focus on innovation and systems change. With an MPH and experience working in social enterprises, Jamie works to integrate private sector thinking into public health challenges.

Jochen has 25 years of experience, including a 23-year career with Roche, leading transformative healthcare innovation in Diagnostics, Pharma, and Clinical Practice, leveraging digital and AI to drive impact.

Dr. Velen is a microbiologist and epidemiologist with 20 years experience in public health, global health and epidemiological research within the private, government and NGO space in various technical, research and management roles.

Rahul has nearly three decades of experience working at the frontier of AI, digital public infrastructure, and primary health care.
